Dream of the wise is where this game is no fun anymore
So i really enjoyed the game until i started dream of the demon. After some hard grind i managed to push through to dream of the wise and i have to say that my nioh 2 journey ends here. The grind you need is insane. The rolls are all so random and the bosses health explodes really fast to the level that it is just pure grind. No enjoyment to be honest. Hope you guys have fun but it is simply not for me

Doing Twilight Missions can quickly boost your +level from gear if you have access to them.

You're not missing out on too much, the rest of postgame content is running through the same levels finding Kodama and doing bosses for 108 floors straight. Only then are you allowed into the super-postgame content where every boss oneshots you.

In that super-postgame area you are shoehorned into specific builds to actually progress which range from strong to straight up broken and gamebreaking (feathers) so no meme builds.
It's still enjoyable farming stuff but once I beat the final floor I don't know what's left to do honestly.

If you aren't into grindy progression games then you shouldn't be playing these types of games in the first place.. I love these types of games ever since I was a kid I mean who wouldn't like to repeat the same crap and seeing your character progress and get stronger? but then again these types of games isn't for everyone due to people just being too impatient.. You have to have a knack for these types of games to actually enjoy them.

some people, like me, Pim_The_Mack, Xelod93 and others play the game with level 1 weapons, including the abyss. so I would beg to differ on the claim that you're forced to run some meta build

You can always open an expedition to get a help from other players.

Yeah you don't need a weapon if you just spam feather I know.
Or are you suggesting that a level 1 weapon can do a billion damage in a reasonable time frame before the boss oneshots you? And you need to do that thrice for one floor, sure bud.

wtf dude. There's plenty of enjoyment to be had from this game beyond repeating the same missions countless times for rare drops. And piss off with your snide remark about impatience. There's a quote from famed art critic John Ruskin I rather like which goes like (and I paraphrase): "Only ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ take pride in completing work that is repetitious and simple-minded."

He's right that the game is doable without meta builds but I don't think it's the most efficient way to play lol... I guess some players just like doing 1 damage on the boss all the time for the challenge I guess?

Yeah later difficulties it does get kinda boring, i like changing builds a lot and trying new things but you have very few options later on because you have to go for the meta.

Once they fix the crashes i'm going to start again and just have my own endgame on DotD.

look Remi, DotNioh Twilight mission DLC3 Otakemaru with a level 1 Odachi, without getting oneshot (or even hit when we're at it)

"With a level 1 Odachi"

The video literally shows it's a 190(+46) Odachi. Also they swap to a switchglaive halfway through.

Are you kidding? Dream of the Wise is where the game finally got really good!
I actually have to stance dance now! Sometimes.
Also I benefit from stance dancing in a pure numerical way, and not just a practical way.
Before now, I never had to change from high stance, basically ever. On maybe 70% of all weapon types.
