Did they nerf the damage for Nioh 2.
I was watching youtubes to learn how to build my character. Then I see the kind of damage they are doing, its like over 10 thousands damage. I thought to myself WOW! That is OP. So I followed each and every guide but to my surprise, despite following their guide, non of my damage was even near what was shown on the video.

Note that my character and gear level already surpass the ones shown on the youtube videos but I am actually doing normal damages while they do 10 thousands over damage.

So I begin to wonder, did they nerf damages before releasing it to PC? Yes those videos are from fighting cowboy and jumping production, which is at least 11 months old.

They nerfed a lot of stuff. But 10k is not a lot. Unless you're talking about 10k with a normal atttack (and not an active skill). And even that is not that much if a player is using high stance and buffs and damages the enemy from behind.

I'm thinking that too. I see IAI quickdraw builds that erase a big portion of the enemy's health bar on videos, I replicate it and even surpass some of their stats, and still cannot do an IAI quickdraw that deletes like 1/3 of a boss health bar.
I think a lot of stuff has been nerfed now. :(

How do you increase damage? I have divine weapons at + 20 and my attack is 3000 I am not even doing 10k in a single active skill with odachi. Do advise.

I tried rage and high stance no 10k ever happened to me. Fighting cowboy character attack was at 2000 and he did a moonlight that do over 10k easily.

Yeah I seen the video where a lvl 300 guy with + 5 divine weapon did a 19k damage. I am at lvl 347 and I barely reach 10k with moonlight snow.

So many build videos marked as nerfed. And some additional info from PS players, yeah TN nerfed many things since the first PS release.

Anyway, hi there Langrisser. Used to join you as a visitor several times :). Good to see ya man.

There's factors to everything, did he buff? Was the enemy out of ki? Was the enemy saturated? Did he sneak attack? etc? If you wanna link the video we might be able to help more =P.

There was someone who made a night rain build in nioh 1 and despite replicating it, I couldn't pull the numbers he did. I hit for 43k, he was hitting 127k, there's always something missing.

This is a factor too. But if you want more info on improving damage. Search for Nioh 2 Build Bible. And actually i don't know if I can really reach 40k damage with divine +5 tho, sounds fishy. Cause i did 40k with my +100. And it's not like i could just pull that anytime.

Are you using all damage buffs that don't stack (Carnage Talisman, Last Gambit Pill, Dried Nupeppo Meat)?
Compared to Nioh 1 damage is pretty much nerfed, Nioh 2 wants ki break meta over everything else.

Yo man, always love a visitor. Now I have slowed down my pace of gaming because I don't want to over level a friend whom I am playing coop with. I am level 347 and he is 306. if you are around our level, feel free to drop me a message we can invite you to our coop. Both of us has unlock wise but we are still too weak for it. So we are grinding in Demon.

Here is one of the vids I try to learn from.

I don't have carnage talisman or power pills. But I used rage and the spirit guardian that buff your high stance attack. Tried it and it still do minimal damage. So I gave up and do my own stuff. All my gears have active skill damage.

After watching the video, looks like the obsidian samurai was back attack damage, he got him during rage. The Ryuoken though, that just looked like standard damage. Rage up, do moonlit snow, weakness it if need be and there you go. The damage looked standard, so you should be able to hit it easily enough. The obsidian one though, that's deceptive due to the back attacks.

its not that hard some weps hit harder then others.I just startet second playthro lvl 110 and my charge atacks doing 4k dmg and 1.5k/2k strong atacks

There are ways to do massive damage on enemies in certain situations. IE fully depleting the boss's ki, inflicting confusion on them (50% more damage taken), saturated (20% more damage taken), defense down, fully buffing yourself with soul purge talisman, nuppeppo, carnage, having 20% dmg vs zero-ki and 20% dmg vs status rolls on your accessories, etc. Some end-game build videos also use last gambit pill, which I believe has been nerfed. I was watching folks with full endgame builds hitting upwards of 40k damage in a single hit lol.

Also that obsidian build is ancient pre-DLC, but I don't think anything there has been changed significantly.

Nope I was unable to do that kind of damage shown in fighting cowboys youtube despite following his tips. Which is why I made this thread to find out if everything has been nerfed.
