You have to beat the 108th floor in the underworld and you get a guaranteed free one.. it will unlock the Depths once you beat the 108th floor and can farm for more of them in the depths by defeating bosses.

It'll suck once you get to like floor 10 or so... that's when you're gonna need those buffs I barely got to floor 17 but damn it hurts like hell already for my build lol... still working on getting my susano pcs though.
BTW here are the 5 paths' effects:
Path of the Avaricious: Greatly Increases the Loot Drop Rate in exchange for reducing your maximum health.
Path of the Beast: Increases the damage and Ki damage dealt by yokai abilities in exchange for consuming more Anima when using them.
Path of the Demon: Extends the Duration of Status enhancements, In exchange, status ailments will also be extended, and can only be removed through the passage of time.
Path of the Gods: Greatly increases the amount of Ki recovered when performing a Ki pulse. In exchange, your Ki recovery speed will drop drastically.
Path of the Ravenous: Greatly recover health whenever you absorb Amrita. In exchange, your rate of earning Amrita will be Decreased
Path of the Ruthless: Increases Damage dealt by melee attacks and speeds up Ki recovery. In exchange, this greatly increases damage received.

IMO Demon is the best no contest since it prolongs the buff time (versatility, cleansing prayer etc by quite a bit) and the downside is pretty minor.

Only through time passing. Standing around or fighting. I haven't tested with Ailment Duration -% shortens the penalty.

For example, If you got poisoned, you cannot use antidote to remove it, you just have to wait 30 seconds or 1 minutes, I don't know how long the time is for the effect to naturally go away.
But this isn't really a big deal in end-game especially if you have ultimate constitution which will heal you much faster than any ailment could injure you. You can also roll to remove burn or use sake to prevent status ailment. You can also have the ailment duration - perk on a scroll to make this debuff almost completely irrelevant.

I thought as well, but for whatever reason, it seems that antidote is removing poison for me, so either there is a difference between debuffs and status ailment, or something isn't working as intended (well technically there could be localization at fault too, didn't switch to jaapnese interface yet to check myself).

Speaking of ultimate constitution, is that really good? I reached floor 16 of the depths, and I see no reason on ultiamte constitution, if I get one shot or two shot, and in the latter case I'm just with too low health for ultimate constitution to trigger.

Since I've tried UC I cannot play without it.
I Play heavy armor with 12,5 k defense, 8k hp & Honda clan, so when I take a hit I'm almost always in the good range, time for me to get hit, I'm full life with UC and Izanagi regen.

Imho UC is just too good to pass with my kind of armor build.

I'm almost at level 20 of depths.

I see. I did read the same (UC paired with honda clan) on both gamefaqs and reddit to make full benefit of UC indeed, I just hoped for them to not be completely mandatory at the same time, since I'm into uesugi for my YS build.

Go to torii gate

Open up an expedition.

Two ppl will probably join you and slaughter their way with u to the depths.

I do it often trying out builds.
