If you have not played Nioh 1, then I'd say no.
(In that, a free Nioh 1 from the Epic store is a great way to see if you'll like the series and that way, won't have spent the cost of Nioh 2 if it turns out you don't like Nioh 1.)
Only if you find yourself playing through Nioh 1 multiple times and engaging in post-game content where there are no achievements / trophies for it, then you are a very strong Nioh 2 candidate even at full price.
I personally like Nioh 2 more (character creation, polish on the equipment systems, additional combat options) than Nioh 1 (better protagonist motivation, better story pacing, diverse main level aesthetics early on). Story-wise, Nioh 2 is 90~95% prequel to Nioh 1, but to me, story and characters are Nioh 2's weakest area.
be warned though. it has advanced combat though you do not need to use all the advanced maneuvers they do help.
Definitely. And it's the biggest reason I can't find the motivation to end the story.
Gameplay-wise it is definitely better than the first game. But they made some really weird decisions in regards to the player character. My guess is they did that to "justify" the character creation but it really hurt the story-telling of the game. The player character might as well not exist for the majority of it.
Easy tiger! I think you must be confused. I'm talking about Nioh 2 not Nioh 1. There's no EGS bias here friendo.
I cant tell you if its worth it to you when Nioh 1 is free. I personally find it hard to go back to 1 now.
