Favored transfers are untouched so that you can spam stuff.
You can get untouched jutsu for both to have more jutsu indirectly. Feathers cost a lot of slots though and may not be worth the damage. The comparison of damage might be bad considering they may not have calculated 4 feathers vs 12 magic shots and etc.
I think I will stick to onmyo for the time being as I also enjoy the buffs they have :3
Found a guy tested onmyo vs ninjutsu at same power (I think he edited the save values though).
I'm not sure if this simulation is accurate but if it is, Ninjutsu seems more powerful, not to mention it deals x5 damage to enemies out of ki. I know the amount that can be carried is a bit less but the difference is quite huge.
Demon/magic is also a really good combo with a bunch of "anima charge on onmyo hit" + "anima charge when dealing elemental damage" (and also "anima charge on projectile hit"? Not sure if it stacks with the other two but I got some just in case) abilities, you can get ~2 anima per basic fireball which lets you spam demon abilities with reckless abandon.
(Some of the ultimate Divine Graces you get in NG++++ territory also gives you "untouched jutsu" (both ninjutsu and onmyo at once) so in the postgame you don't even need to choose one or the other)
I got a great skill drop early on in the run called Flame Dragon Scroll which is a Ninjutsu Skill so I continued to raise both Dex and Magic even though I knew I wanted to focus more on Magic. The skill was that helpful and is still pretty damned powerful against most enemies so it changed the course of my build and then I started looking for an Armor set that would help. Turns out, it was a Grace and an Armor set together that has allowed the journey to be much more enjoyable than I expected as their are so many ways to customize to the exact play style that you're in the mood for. One of the major strengths of the game.
Figured I'd try and recruit some other dual Jutsu and Caster folk for the cause, whatever the cause turns out to be.
