Nintendo Switch - Feedbacks & Suggestions
Hi everyone,

This is the main forum for Nintendo Switch users.
Here you can report bugds, and give feedbacks & suggestions about Nintendo Switch version.
For more deep conversations about this we also have a dedicated Discord Channel on our Discord Server. [discord.com]

Also here's some F.A.Q:

How does the crossplay works?
Steam version has a branch (steam game->properties->beta->Nintendo Switch Crossplay Version) that will always be updated to be the same exact version of the latest Nintendo Switch version. Playing on that branch allows to play in crossplay with Nintendo Switch users.

Will the Switch version receive updates?
Nintendo Switch will receive regular updates, however Nintendo require to us testings on their side and approvals that usually takes 1 month of waits and delays on this. To this, add the time we need to actually create the updates and optimize them for the console.

What is Nintendo Switch version performance?
There is a "Performance mode" options on Nintendo switch version. Enabling the option will guarante 40 to 60fps at almost always full native Switch resolution. Without the option enabled the framerate is usually fixed 30FPS.

Does Nintendo Switch support gyros for better aim?
Currently gyros are supported only using the controller gyros, so you have to play with controllers that include them. They works only when aiming down sight and their sensitivity can be adjusted via the option called "aim sensitivity" in pause settings.

Does Nintendo Switch version support Editor Maps & Missions?
Currently this is the only feature missing on the console and that's why it is not mentioned in the eShop page and Nintendo Switch trailer. (It might be included in the future).
The main reasons are:
-Map & Mission editor are CPU expansive tasks; To make such systems works well on the console we will need to work much more time into the optimization of the Editors.
-Missions and Map editors gives a lot of freedom to the users to create levels and environments without many restrictions. If the tools are not used wisley and with optimizations in mind the result might be very poor performance and crashes as the Switch is a very low end hardware. Also creating maps and missions using a gamepad as input can take huge amount of time.
-As the Steam Workshop can not be crossplay, there wouldn't be a way to share the map and missions to other users so it would be an offline feature only (At least based on how the Map & Mission editor sharing currently works).

Great thx for creating this area for the switch users. Maybe we can move already posted stuff in here?

Well as i wrote, without the performancemode the shadows a flickering wild on the characters. The clipping and LOD is another bis issue in this game. Things popping in front of me and changing the object completely. This also happens to the textures in front of a building. I think this is big work so i would suggest, beside the fixing (long term), to implement a good "comic" filter where you dont see the details that much.

Another thing is the inventory handling. It is made for PC and mouse.

Seconded.
Having been able to give it a proper go, I can safely say the Switch version is awesome. There's a few performance hiccups here and there, stuff like momentary freezing. And I did manage to have a crash. To cause it, I think, I played the final mission of the Kos campaign in a plane (BF-109 if it's important). Anyway after several minutes of trying to land/refill ammo, the water disappeared in a weird, circular pattern which moved as I flew around. Around 20-30 seconds later, it crashed. If I had to guess, it ran out of RAM or VRAM, OR it just straight up had no idea what to do about something. Fortunately only crash I've had on the new version.
It would be nice if you tweak the weight painting on some of the hands, It doesn't look like it needs too much love but it looks real janky now. Also in shadow everybody gets super shiny for some weird reason?

Issues/suggestions:

Gyro issue: can you please have a turning be affected by both yaw and roll? This is what's Splatoon does and it's a really good feel as no matter which angle your controller is at it will always pick up turning.

Big one: allow which controller on the Joy-Cons to do motion controls with as the left joycon usually isn't the motion control Joy-Con for FPS's.

Controlling the menus with the left joystick would be nice.

When in dual joycon mode maybe have the other Joy-Con be used for tilting to lean. Could be a nice advantage for having two joycon.

The flickering shadow on self is persistent on quality mode.

I think this could be a small but nice improvement but give the menus something more than color boxes? Maybe something thematically appropriate? Metal badges? Drooping flags? War plan maps? I know it doesn't serve the game so this is definitely not high priority but it would just feel better.
While I think of it, and not trying to spam, I read somewhere the mission editor was taken out because it'd take too long to make maps, it's not compatible with the steam workshop and (Might've made this up but it makes sense) the controls probably wouldn't be comfortable.

I do agree with all these points, but personally I'd like the option to suffer through it for my own amusement than not be able to at all without getting the steam version.
I really love the game on switch, it's a premier for a game like these on switch

will you try to add more bots on switch ? i know they are really heavy on performance but the game could really benefit of having more npcs and do you know when the stalingrad DLC will be coming ?
The main thing i can think of is allowing switch users to cache custom maps from multiplayer servers hosted on PC via P2P since the servers are P2P to begin with. Might be worth looking at.

Also might be worth giving disclaimer about users using custom content to not guarantee performance on those missions.
Stalingrad still hasn't dropped, it's been a month and 9 days since the steam release. Feedback suggestion being a little more communication since I've heard nothing and can find nothing about it other than the advert in game.

Join the discord server. The devs are more than active there about future updates.
Switch version is great, but is there a way to see a scoreboard in multiplayer? I think I've tried every button including long holds but no luck
I have the switch one too. The Roi Namur campaign should be included in the update, as well as ability to increase bot count, which doesnt have to be the same amount as pc version, but just enough to be more bots than normal. Other than that this game is just all around fun.

News regarding Nintendo switch update:
We almost finished setting up an update for nintendo switch. We ran tests for days and with the new changes we are pretty sure to have fixed all the random crash issue.
We also did a lot of performance improvements and added all the new changes since version 1.1.6 up to 1.2.0 (current PC version), so that includes adding the new Roi-Namur campaign, uniform and weapon reoworks, new sounds, parachuting and much much more (see PC changelogs to learn more about all the changes that have been published during the last 2 months).
Stalingrad DLC will also finally be available on Nintendo switch as well.
We just submitted the patch and the Stalingrad DLC to Nintendo and we expect Nintendo to check, approve and release both contents in 1 month circa. If they require us to do some edits to the content there might be delays tho, it's very hard to give precise dates when working with Nintendo sometimes
Marco Amadei, I'm having consistent issues with my Nintendo Switch edition of the game. I cannot finish even one level of the campaign without it crashing, the framerate is suffering tremendously even with performance mode on, and I don't know how to report bugs without going to Steam. Need a reply on this asap!

How many time did the game crash exactly? Maybe you could try reinstalling it, some very occasional crashes are still happening after last patch but they should be very rare.
In any case with next patch along with all the upcoming news we have been prepared more optimizations that as far as we could test, didn't ever make the game crash in our testings anymore.
I cannot pass the first mission playing as the US team on Nintendo switch without unexpected crash please fix this take the time to fix this please

mate I only have tested first mission so I'm not sure about anything else it crashes after reaching the area with trees and two houses and concrete pillar and also crashes near the last capture point near the town

it is also very hard to see enemies at distance especially when storming the beach as US or defending as germany on first mission a little bit more fine tuning and and it would be awesome and maybe a fov setting for ads could fix the issue of seeing at longer range I think below 40 fov for aiming down sight and above 45 for looking around if I was 40 I honestly think it would be impossible for me to see anything

Also activating performance mode in graphics does nothing to stop the crash kinda makes things better but blurry at distance

Item despawn time is at default I don't know if changing this will make the game stop crashing I will test this out I would rather have it as default or higher

Draw distance fix idea?
Option for fog possibly where the draw distance ends I don't know.

Other then that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great game it needs a little more fine tuning I love seeing the progress of this game ily

And Is it also possible to bring easy red 1 to Nintendo switch

tbh a bit more effort and the game could become more successful then hell let loose if it was on console
