Mobile Resource Gathering Camp?

I'm not an expert on making games. In fact I don't even know the basics so I don't know if what follows is doable.

Since the game has a pretty big issue with resource gathering over long distances and it needs a solution, I am thinking that maybe you could add a mobile resource gathering camp which can be deployed near resource nodes, where the people can not only gather resources, but also use it as a temporary camp where they could rest and eat until the resource is gathered. Once that is done the mobile camp can be packed up and moved back to base to drop the resources.

That or just give us worker bots which can go and gather resources without having to turn around half way to eat and sleep because honestly it's not fun to spend several days to mine and carry some carbon to base due to the distance.

I had the same idea. Right now I move a bedroll and torch to the target location, but that's still two round trips and does nothing for food.

A temp camp/tent with a light source and food would be great.
