Don't know why but if I farmed all the insect infestations I could have bought the planet in the shortest time possible. They are just too valuable.
Maybe not your end goal, but it's quick and easy for early cash
I dont see a good eco in that tbh, takes away your early game ressources, takes time to cut/deliver to camp etc. Best way for early cash i have come up with is to start harvesting cloth around the map on day 3-5 when the cloth harvest is at its peak, on bad seeds in terms of cloth i make a solid 85K on that first shipment, just enough to get 2 survivors hired min. on good maps 170K ish., then hire for half a year building up eco and increasing crew give them longer contracts second time around.
Hay as ressource is better than one may think as you can use it in your construction, using hay on centersquares stronger materials on exposed floor
My main sources of money has been cloth, wine, stimulants and smokeweed pipes, but I can't expand further on that because my people can't keep up with the demand past the point I am currently at; the farming is at the capacity of my people to be able to bring in harvests and replant, so I also branched into other goods.
Trade goods, made of wood, in particular, because I can postpone the harvesting and planting of the evergreens into winter, when the labor is freed up from the normal farming tasks. Carbon nanotubes as well, but there's a limit on those if you don't have nests spanning relatively close, based on your rate of metal gain.
Enjoy and survive on pardner.
Carbon and CPUs can also generate huge returns, but at least they take a while to acquire.
The most ideal map for this scenario is: CITY-SMILE...... ;)
