animals and fences
so is there a way to build a gate that will not let my cows just walk out? i built the normal fence but the stupid cows walk out. and i know that settlers r terrible at the handle work type so id hate to rely on them to open and close the gate.

I have not had that problem. Is the fence gate closed at all times ? Survivors will just open and close them as they pass through but cows wont. ( unless they have a lead command and then even cows will open and close a gate to get to the destination )

i used the fence gate that auto closes and the cows walk right on out of there.

my enclosure has a fence door and gate (all made of wood). and i do not have that issue. i also have large animal beds in the stick enclosures ( all within the fenced area). i got my animals in the pen by lead and had my guys manual move them in there. there also the food trough that feeds my animals for me. i would try and verifying files if your tames still walk out or even try a new game.

I'm having the opposite problem, I have concrete fortifications with metal gates that I have many times verified all are closed and no gaps in the entire length, and yet I keep getting critters inside the perimeter? Not sure if it matters, but I play on PS4.

Did you enclose a large swat of land with a good portion of it unused ?
Do you have an open killbox ?

And what do you mean with critters ? Birds ? Or actual bugs etc ?

It's fairly large, and has never been used for anything, as far as the critters, it's everything from Shoge to Hummingflys, all but the KOS animals.

As @Flin suggested, it is probably the open land. I noticed that animals and hungry pests will spawn inside my gated community when there are larger areas of unused land.

That's gotta be it, I've gone back and ch cked other sav s and ran new scenarios, small enclosure equals no intrusion, large enclosure just keeps your livestock in only, everything else can spawn inside it. Thanx for the info, ideas and suggestions gang ... Stay safe and survive on ✌️
