Lost a lil bot :-(

I had someone inside a mech kill three nests, then I gave the order to move back into the base.

Then I forgot about her.

When I remembered her, she was happily working and eating in the base... no mech in sight.
Any idea what happened or how to find it?

I already tried large area selection.... nothing.

Wut happened, and where? And why?

Found, needed even larger area selection.
But still... any idea what happened?
Why did she leave the mech there and not where I told her to go to?

Using a mech requires drafting an operator.
Draft commands will expire automatically once enough time has lapsed, even for drones and bots.
So your mech operator was left drafted for a while. Then the draft period simply expired and the operator unmounted.

well your question got already answered but if anyone ever doesnt know where a mech got dropped, you will just have to send your survivor from where you last had them with the mech to where you ordered them to go with the mech before they lost it, this way you will see the path the character now wants to take and took back then with the mech too.

thats how i found my mech again after i lost it really far from main base on a hillside with trees.
