Vegetarians In Winter
There needs to be a way to account for vegetarians in winter. The morons will literally rather starve to death than eat meat.
I think when they get to at least a heavy degree of starvation they should be allowed to eat meat, but still retain the mood penalty as if they are starving to offset the restriction

Vegetables are unattainable in winter however

best way to battle this is to leave the veggie in store outside ( they freeze and set everyone who inst vegan to eat meat and other stuff and veg to eat raw veg as well as cooked.
and as soon as you can get fridge/ freezer then you have no problem with keeping supple. early game its bit of a struggle but it is possible too survive. so far at 4 year mark with vegan she nearly died at start. just cause forgot to restrict everyone else to eating meat and letting her eat. and crop field was less due to force harvest early.

but i do agree their needs to be a early stage way of storing food to last.
fridges cant change temp on them as far as i can see. and quite mid tier unlock.
also its battle trying to keep animals away. from crops. aless you go on rampage and murder everything around your base. fences dont really stop them from going oh food.

( i am currently playing it on hard with everyone starting from 0 on stat sheet so maybe different )

Animals eating crops could be fixed fairly easily by letting settlers use gates themselves. Instead you have to manually open and close doors which is rather awkward and pointless micro.

First thing to do is not to get vegetarians. Look I have nothing against the practice but I also don't want to gimp my colony.

meat eating is a foolish life style, so vegetarians should modify their diet to get a little nutrition from grass & drinks in game. of course, it's also a good idea to have someone who eats cruel meat as an alternative to having own sentiments taken to an inferior level.
I spent 2 years as a vegan, became healthier, this is also influenced by the Japanese lifestyle of eating only Japanese food & natural foods.

It is pointed in tutorial that there is smaller fence gate which settlers automatically use and close.

You can grow crops in the winter, just need a heat source next to the crops and voila

All heatsource has like a 3x3 or bigger heat generation spread.

Make a 1 tile line of roofed floors basically, put a group of heaters under it and a column of crops next to them. Put a day and night sensor to turn on and off maybe to lessen power usage during the day for your other machines?

id happily watch teh vegetarians die off, natures way of culling them. Dumb idiots, humans evolved to the point we are due to being omnivores, why would anyone think its a good idea to become a veg or vegan is beyond me.

vegetarians should partake in Coprophagia if they are that committed...then ill be like "fair enough you win"

Just like in real life if you are a Vegetarian you are dead weight and not long for this world. Eat the bugs or die.
Nishikawa Oct 17, 2022 @ 12:08am
Vegetarians & vegans maintain an appropriate weight, the Japanese macrobiotics authority Mitsuo Koda proved it, so I am proving it now. however, plant & insect diets will be important in survival settings.
in this way, Stranded: Alien Dawn recreates the conflict between the many unhealthy meat eaters & the few vegetarians, just as in the real world.
God created human is not evolved, but we can grow, so you can grow so that you can survive, even if you stop wasting time predating.
