Have you come across a Map Seed that made you go "Oh Wow That's Pretty Sweet!" ?Share it with the community! Try to include when you got an extra survivor in week 1 or not, and what your starting breakthroughs were...

PLEASE NOTE: It has been suggested to split the list, with guaranteed week 1 survivors taking higher priority, along with the starting breakthroughs. I'm going to attempt this, listing the "preferred" seeds first, while keeping the older suggestions below in case their details move them up in rank, as we don't have full info on all of these yet.

** SEEDS WITH CONFIRMED(?) WEEK 1 SURVIVORS **

01. FOLD-BUY
Crash into the base of a rock, and there is a medium sized, flat, open plateau that spreads out from that point, closest nest decent distance away. Everything is within walking distance, with tall grass (wheat) the furthest away but still not bad. You also get a survivor early on.

Starting Breakthroughs:
Ore Prospecting
Fuel Fermentation
Graphene Solar Cells
Carbon Wind Tubes
Battery Optimization

02. LLL
Nice spot on lake, all materials near by. Got another survivor in the first week. OP NOTE: scenic! Possibly 2 extra survivors reported?

Starting Breakthroughs:
Chitin Synthetics
Printed Components
Graphene Solar Cells
Carbon Wind Turbines
Battery Optimization

03. CALM-TUNE
You will get an additional survivor when clearing the spaceship debris around the crash site. Also, start with a research desk and lighting rod... OP NOTE: I got someone different, but he's not kidding about the lightning rod, geez lol Also, I think the "first week" survivors is just based on time.

Starting Breakthroughs:
Printed Components
Fuel Fermintation
Carbon Wind Tubes
Battery Optimization
Improved Laser Pistols

04. JIBBER-JABBER
I'm going to add to this, if you like scenic along with convenience. To the left of the crash site within easy walking distance, is a large flat plateau that has a beautiful moonrise and overlooks everything. All resources are a short walk. Cotton being farthest at the base of the cliff, but not inconvenient to get to to study. Nova showed up on 5th day, but I don't know if that's random. OP NOTE: Incoming debris wiped out almost all starting supplies for me...

Starting Breakthroughs:
Ore Prospecting
Sleep Training
Printed Conponents
Fuel Fermentation
Improved Pulse Rifles

05. COW-ZONE
This is a flat starting area with plenty of resources around you. A little light on trees depending where you build, but certainly enough to get started. Can always plant some fields of trees for later building if needed. I also got a 5th survivor on Day 7

Starting Breakthroughs:
Sleep Training
Chitin Synthetics
Battery Optimization
Balloon Optimization
Improved Railgun Snipers

06. LACK-SHIFT
Two decently sized flat areas near spawn. One in a beach overlooking a vast lake, the other more inland but much bigger. Tons of resources not far from wherever you decide to set up. Lots of animals are bunched together and tend to fight so there's an abundance of meat when the populations tend to grow too large. Lots of bug nests I'd say about 5-6 in the beginning and increase in number over time as the years go by. Best part in my opinion, you get two walk-in survivors.

Starting Breakthroughs:
Improved Solar Cells
Carbon Wind Turbines
Battery Optimisation
Improved Laser Pistol
Carbon Armour

07. MOTOR-FIGURE
OP NOTE: 3 Extra Survivors reported, no other info so far. EDIT: 1 early walk-in survivor reported, seed highly recommended by community member

Starting Breakthroughs:
Sleep Training
Meat Printing
Printed Components
Battery Optimization
Carbon Armor

08. POWER-OVERWHELMING
Lands you on top of a flat mountaintop, with a total of 7 scavenging points, and if you rush that nest early the moment you spawn with a gun or two, destroy the nest and claim the carbon nanotubes early on as there is ZERO enemies there!
Update to Power-Overwhelming I played until year 1 day 25 and i received 4 survivors so now I am at 8, i got the 4 (3?) through expeditions and 1 came in camp on day 6.

Staring Breakthroughs:
Hay Cloth
Hay Sausage
Sleep Training
Meat Printing
Improved Laser Pistol

09. DUMA-KEY
I've been looking forever for a seed that had EVERY resource, and this is it. That includes chew root, beef berries, and grain grass. Those three never seem to come together. But they're all here, along with the rest. Some are a hike, but not unreasonable. Trees are somewhat limited, but there's a lot of rocks. Enough wood to get what you need, maybe plant some forests. Soil has enough loam patches to get the job done. There's a nest close enough to farm, but not too close. Walk-in survivor night of day 5

Starting Breakthroughs:
Hay Cloth
Printed Components
Fuel Fermentation
Improved Solar Cells
Battery Optimization

10. chaton
Hello ,I try a map called " chaton " (without "") and i had a new survivor very quickly. Not sure it was the first week and i dont have save game at this time of the game, but its very early. The map is very nice to play, large plains, food and peaceful creatures, and place to build a nice base.

11. YOUTH-ORDER
Same landing as LLL. Walk on: Talas within 9 days, found Laara + Yokko Ballooning
Wrecks: 8 at start. Added notations: one nest to the South as well as Berries to the left canton (the moon is always oriented southeast)

Starting Breakthroughs:
Fuel Fermentation
Carbon Wind Turbines
Balloon Opt
Imp Railgun
Carbon Armor

12. EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL
It drops you on a plateau that looks like a nice place to put a base. Will use it on my next playthrough OP NOTE: 2 reports of an early walk-in, 1 report of no early walk-in

Starting Breakthroughs: (6?)
Fuel Fermentation
Printed Components
Improved Solar cells
Balloon Optimisation
Improved Pulse rifles
Veggie Armor

** PATCH ! **

13. WICKED
Had survivor Anette walking into camp on day 7. Got a sniper rifle on the second scavenge (by Laara, she's now got quick legs and a big gun!) from the crashed ship. Not sure if that is seed based or not but literally within a couple of minutes of the "landing". Got bug fuel breakthrough on my second expedition, not sure if that is seed based, either. Large open area with every type of harvest as far as I can tell, except for chew roots. Although the fruit was a bit of a walk (being observed on the screenshot). Lots of stone AND 100% fertility. Found 2 nests, right next to each other, a fair distance away OP NOTE: See post #131 for screenshot, reports of no chew-root but found during expedition

Starting Breakthroughs:
Ore Prospecting
Meat Printing
Improved Solar Cells
Battery Optimization
Improved Pulse Rifles

** REST OF ORIGINAL LIST BELOW / NO EARLY WALK-IN SURVIVORS **

01. CITY-HAT
Starts you off in a relatively small area on a mountainside, no spikey-bois anywhere near, plenty of animals and resources right by the starting area, including an entire forest. Also like 4 or 5 debris chunks crash all around you. OP NOTE: seems there's no "tall grass" in this map area, but there is "corn". Got survivor on 2nd expedition.

02. JUMP-JACKET
It has good resources all around and lands you near an interesting huge "arch" stone formation that can serve as a cool main entrance to your camp. No nests nearby either. OP NOTE: for me there was one nest pretty close

03. FLORA-FAUNA
It's really mountainous, but almost completely deciduous (leafy) forests. The whole map is pretty good, but I settled on the far far side after bumping against a lot of walls. There was a little lake there and weird rock formations that sounded creepy with wind. The trees seem different from ones I've encountered on other maps. It has more of the alien planet vibe. OP NOTE: Nice one, lotsa trees

04. DRAGON-FLY
Odd because it was soooo flat, and the entire map (that I encountered) was the 100% soil. So, one for the farmers :P

05. ABC-ABC
Very interesting part of the map, really cool rock formations, and I think the definitive winner for hardest landing 😂

06. HIGGS-BOSON
Gives a nice area next to the crash site where you have a cul de sac of impassable stone you can build up to giving you a very safe back yard of sorts. Lots of stone but not much food or hay. You'll need to plant right away and hunt big horn. Bugs will supply you for a while.

07. INSIDE-ANGER
My current map has large open spaces great for farming as well. Blueberry, grain, hay, rocks and ores nearby. OP NOTE: A few people have recommended this one, not very many trees nearby

08. SURVIVING-MARS
Try this one if you want a challenge. Not a lot of flat and fertile land around to build near your crash site and worse yet, the third spaceship debris that comes crashing down in the beginning lands right next to you, making even less land fertile. Certain resources far away or not available at all in immediate area.

09. PEACE-CALM
Gave an interesting start. I am playing through it now, but it places you on a strip of land with a satellite crash on the north, a large body of water on the east, a path to some herbivores to the south, and a small plateau/mountain range to the west, which provides some natural defense planning. There seems to be a path up the plateau to the south, plenty of trees on the west as well. OP NOTE: pretty interesting! Nest nearby.

10. NET-SAMPLE
For the win -- see this image see any animals ...no thought so :} OP NOTE: large, flat, open area but with some trees.

11. SUGAR-TIME
Spawns you right next to a massive ravine that could act as a choke point somehow, very hard to work with though. OP NOTE: A challenge perhaps?

12. ALIEN-VERSUS-PREDATOR
You crash up on a decent sized plateau, decent amount of animals and resources around...pity about the 6-7 nests nearby OP NOTE: Yikes

13. CREDIT-STAR
Lands you near a big lake and apparently there is a small strip of land in the water you can build on, which can be handy if you want to make a coastal base with chokepoints.

14. NERVE-WASH
Is my current map, lands you on a plateau type area, all loam soil around great for planting, beefberry, buttermelon, grain grass, skinbark, tube plants, ore, pretty much everything within walking distance, just havent found that root yet, plenty of animals too and a nice view over the cliff

15. PLENTY-BROWN
You start on a flat plateu like mounten top. -It is very flat and plenty space ti build. -You have enough Berrys to build you whole base with them -A lot of Wracks to loot. -A lot of animals arround -the whole Plateu is surrounded by trees -Mushrooms and the Jelly Plant (forgot the name) are close enough, Skinbark is a bit further away -Silicon Flower right there -Fertility is decent, at the sides of the mounten perfect -Some stone also nearby

16. POP-AMOUNT
Starts smack right down on a beach of a huge lake, most mats around, cant find cotton thou.

17. HULK-HOGAN
Crashes you almost into a small lake/pond.

18. MINE-CRAFT
If I remember correctly crashed you into a rock formation.

19. VALHEIM
Which actually was a nice location as most resources are in really close proximity to the starting location.

20. GRAND-CANION
This map have good places for defenses. Near the crash you'll find every thing you need to play. Good food, a small lake in the center, and close to a nest.

21. BREATH-HORROR
A Dragonface looking like rock is right beside the start

22. HOLD-GATE
Very flat and lots of 100% soil, so one for the farmers, and anyone wanting to build big. Crash site is next to a small ravine, full of Heptagonia. Trees and bushes (for sticks) a short walk away along a much larger ravine/valley, that also has mushrooms. Lots of rock chunks. Lots of starting plants near. Main downside so far, so new survivors, and I'm at Year 2 Day 12. OP NOTE: Edited for length, read full description on post #54!

23. COMMON-DENOMINATOR
A little weak on nearby rock resources, but it has everything: Every plant nearby (have to look closely to find the beefberries though--they're over by some twist-leaf patches, and there's not a whole lot of wild cobgrain to harvest so you'll want to farm that soon). Several close-by wrecks to salvage. Lots of gourd patches to harvest. Two close-by meat animal herds, so you'll be able to dry meat and process leather rather quickly. No nearby nests as far as I've seen. Crash zone is very flat with silty soil (not the best, but close), with a good amount of trees to chop. If you're looking for something easy to start with, this is a good one.

24. POWER-OVERWHELMING
Lands you on top of a flat mountaintop, with a total of 7 scavenging points, and if you rush that nest early the moment you spawn with a gun or two, destroy the nest and claim the carbon nanotubes early on as there is ZERO enemies there! Breakthrough: Chitin Synthetic - Hay Cloths - Hay Sausages - Battery Optimizations - Carbon Armor

25. ALT-CURRENT
You start on a flat plateau with fertile soil, next to a mountain. Great variety of resources by the starting position. Limited supply of graincob (farm it early), otherwise top notch.

You can type in literally any word or any numbers, this topic is pointless :) All the seed does is decide your starting location on the map.

Interesting Map seed
count-zero-override seems to put you on the shore of a large river or lake. Fairly hard start due to cramped quarters and a lack of good resources like a lot of trees nearby, etc. In case some of you want a start like that.

Then it is not pointless... if these words are there, it means these ARE the starting locations. You could effectively go through this list, word by word, until you found your 'ideal' starting location. Some are clearly better than others.

I'm also curious as to the hyphen usage...

To be specific, it picks up a starting location in one of the 4-6 static maps, when you get a different location on the same map multiple times, the boundaries are always the same, but the 'nest locations' and animals seems to differ.
The 'plants' and flora are always in the same position, and breakthroughs and small variations on certain things if you get the same starting location with different seeds.

I have used multiple seeds (13-games), many of them have started in virtually the same place. I'm talking with-in a handful of meters.

And when I do my own words, I routinely end up on the plains near a deep, rock-filled chasm and a small pond.

ya, i tried the Dragon-Fly one, lot's of mountains, some flat land but verry small ones between the mountains.
Seeds are case sensitive. That doesn't sound like you used caps, by your description.
i didn't type it here, but yes i did use all caps.

Yeah I really like LLL but besides melons I can not find berries.

Just type in digits like "1" then "2" then "3" and see what starting point that is, and create a new save for that digit. Once you find similarities just note them in notepad.

They are there if you look closer.

5. Best part in my opinion. You get two walk-in survivors; Maki in the 1st week and Quinn late 1st-2nd year so you can plan your starting group to get a much more well-rounded team later on (confirmed me and another player that you get both of these two. Not entirely sure what triggers quin to join, either its after a certain amount of time that's passed, scavenged certain debris or maybe even a certain thing is researched. either way you'll manage to get them both.)

Starting Breakthroughs:

. Improved solar cells
. Carbon wind turbines
. Battery optimisation
. Improved laser pistol
. Carbon armour

Enjoy guys.
The walking in I had in the first week was Krista
Falonious Oct 26, 2022 @ 2:55am
LLL saw me attacked early by more predators than any of the other locations I have had. As an example year 2 I was attacked by 120+ bugs.

Thanks for these! I copied the list into Notepad++ (to give each line a number) then used Google's Random Number Generator to select a word between 1 and 892. I did this twice to get two random words for a really random seed!

Another good seed: SENIOR-PRIOR. There's a tempting mountainside next to the crash site, but only a few trees along it. Across from the mountain is the place where I built, using a jagged rock formation as the back of my base, because there were way more trees around and behind it, plus better soil nearby—but there are other very defensible spots also. Lots of options. All the plants/fruits can be found, although chew root is a ways off around a pond. Decent mostly silt soil, with some loam patches, but also clay and gravel. Large animal herds in both directions, but not too close (although I did have to thin out the pesky shovel-heads who kept wandering toward my early cotton/grain/shroom garden plots). LOTS of nearby wrecks to salvage. Early survivor available to rescue via expedition.

My team: Emelin, Ken, Krista, and Quin. For once, I had my 4br house AND pallisade walls, including a maze trap and wood towers, completed well before winter, including wind power, battery, and a refrigerator. I'm using only mushroom lights for lighting because the survivors really love those lamps (decoration appreciation happiness bonus). And in a stroke of luck, Ken found Simon during a Day 33 rescue expedition (prompting a need to quickly add on another bedroom). And there's an new line of smoke to investigate at Day 35, assuming I can make some more balloon fuel in time...

On edit: Got Krista via expedition on Day 38.
