near a River so um scenic ? i think most crops are on the map, and most of those that are are not too far away, loads of berries for early food consumption, loads of trees, bushes and rocks for construction, 1 possible downside though i haven't experienced one yet , you start off next to 2 Alien nests with 6 others also on the map 2 of which aren't a massive trek away
Littered with nearby debris, 2 right next to the landing pod, and i counted 12 in total within visual sight of the landing pod with loads more further out
I got a 5th survivor walk in within the first week
my starting breakthroughs were hay-cloth, printed components, improved solar cells, graphine solar cells.
Pic link included to give an idea just how close the 2 alien nests actually are

I'd like to contribute a seed and my experiences with it:
SIMPLE-SEARCH (got this at random)
played on the Sobrius region with Chaos moon on medium (my first run with Chaos)
Arrived in a wide and very long valley, sourrounded by hills on the left and right. Land is quite fertile, with typical crop yield of 75% or better. Pretty flat area for building is available. There are lots of different trees and lots of bushes, blade grass and and giants grass. Many other plants too. I didn't find chew roots though, but maybe I was just too dumb. ;-) But that wasn't any problem, most meals can be cooked w/o them.
Insect nests far away at beginning, took a while for some spawning in a walkable distance, but still not close.
I started with:
Emelin (incredible cook, quite good farmer as well, cheerful)
Jack (combat experience and combat trainer, interested in crafting)
Ken (bloodthirsty combat freak, interesed in crafting)
Quin (medium intellect, but interested in research and learns fast, also good contructor)
I got three additional survivors, but they may be somewhat random. Partly as walk-ins and by exploration. Won at Year 6 Day 15 with Jack as the last one with a well-equipped base (lots of auromated defenses, so he had a decent chance being the last one).
---
Breakthroughs at the beginning:
- Chitin synthetics (30 insect meat convertible to 10 synthetic textiles)
- Meat printing (liquid fuel to red meat / poulty meat, didn't acutually use it)
- Printed components (print Electronics, CPU Cores and Power Cells using 3D-Printer instead of manual crafting, same source materials - be sure your supply of silicon is adequate!)
- Fuel fermentation (50 insect meat to 20 liquid fuel fermentation)
- Improved Laser Pistols (unlocks Laser Pistol 2.0 crafting)
---
The following breakthroughs were discovered and researched later during the game, if above isn't good enough: ;-)
- Impoved Railgun Snipers (Railgun Sniper 2.0)
- Veggie armor
- Carbon armor
- Ancient language
These are random or bound to the discovery of certain ressources.
Game version: December 2022 Update (experimental branch due to crashes of the "stable" version, so slightly newer, but shoudl not make a difference)
Have fun playing this seed, if you decide to try it out.

PS: I may try this seed with Desertum region next. And I might add information about that run as well later.
BLACKPINK
LUSH-GAIA
WAYLAND-ENDOR
LOLLIPOP-CHAINSAW
No I'm not joking, nor am I trying to troll or cause trouble.
I tried over 50 recommended seeds, and wasn't happy with any of them... then I tried about 20 that I made up myself, and after too many hours, I finally found one I was happy with.
Later, I found that the seed HORROR-SPIRIT brings you to the same spot but better BTs - Graphene solar cells, Carbon wind turbines, Battery optimization, Baloon optimization, Carbon armor. And another interesting fact - there is a nest nearby without any insect at the beginning and with 23 nest formations = 2300 free carbon nanutubes at the beginning.
Update - Desertum:
Tried this seed again in Desertum region/biome and started with the same people, got the same breakthrough techs. Ended up with six survivors before beginning evacuation one-by-one. Was done in year 7.
Extra handicap: While I played at "medium" difficulty only, I did set the "lost cause" option! Which means everyone started with all skills at ZERO. In such a case, you'll have to train your people to the skills you want them to have. This option however does not change special attributes or interests. But took some extra effort and time.
Insect nests were quite far away, some good soil, lots of medium soil (for most plant's needs), but I was completely okay with that. Nice open, mostly flat area, good for building without too many extra resources just for leveling the ground first. Not to hard to observe interesting plants, including broadleef bushes and palm trees.
Had two tall rocks as part of my western fortifications (although I think I ended up having the east side facing north in my default rotation setting), saved me building several met(er|re)s of fortification walls since the tall rocks are not passable by enemies either. Lots of rocks and rock chunks made me bake a lot of concrete.
Give it a try if you like.

HORROR-CHARGE
Breakthroughs:
Hay Cloth
Ore Prospecting
Printed Components
Carbon Wind Turbines
Additionals from expeditions (so far):
Carbon Armor
Hay Sausage
This is a wide open valley with a couple side valleys. Lots of nearby wrecks, every plant, and the bugs start on the other side of the map.
Tempted to ditch this one (only just landed)
PERIPHERAL OBSERVATIONS:
You crash right next to some nice rock pillars which has those Hexagonia (and a lot more of them nearby); LOADS of bushes and trees; A path down from the crash zone which leads to a small lake (through a forest of trees); A heard of Drakala nearby as well as those Purple Skinbark (name?) Wide leave, and squash plants nearby; the rest of the wrecks crash VERY nearby
so tons of metal and wood to suit all needs; ready meat and veg... only things i do not current see are the corns/cotton and others (Which is why i am thinking of ditching)... Will play it for a bit and update
EDIT: Just noticed tall leave right next to the crash - also only just noticed bladegrass (hay) behind the rocky outcrop after about an hour and a half lol - the only reason i had to ditch
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so main notes:
Crash right next to rock outcrop which you can easily choke-point and build in the clearing right next to it;
Heard of Drakka one side, and a heard of those moose like things the other, no nest noticed so far
Hesagonias, Buttermelons, bladegrass, tall leaf, wide leaf, the leather things... those jellyfish like creatures, path down from crash to lake
Nice building areas around (at least 4) lots of wrecks to scavenge...
Soil is AT LEAST 75% for most farms
Very peaceful play, just don't make my mistake by not looking around closely, you can easily miss some good things (and views)
Lots of food available very close to the start location, lots of poultry and the fauna is kinda aggressive between themselves, so you can butch lots of corpses in the first days, too.
Silicon and ore are abundant too.
BTs:
Hay Cloth
Fuel Fermentation
Improved Solar Cells
Ballon Opt.
Improved Laser Pistols
Veggie armor
Pretty good start, you literaly lands on buttermellons and bushfruits. There is a perfect spot to build a base just 2h walking from the landing place. Very safe, defendable and with plenty of resources and, specially, silicon.
One survival joins the very next day, other one the next day and other one at 15th day.
So 3 new survivors in 15 days.
7 survivors total on day 14!
1 walk-in on start
2 from ballon (had to reload 2 hour irl to get first one but i get second one 60% of time so i have choiche between few different survivor easily)
Not a big deal tho, this update is awesome! Especially like how manure can be utilized for fuel now instead of the sometimes grain -> oil -> fuel bottleneck before. Ulfren ranching for the win!
Update: Yr 2, Day 6, Spring: Anette walked-in. No Yr 1 survivor walk-ins tho.
However, in Yr 1 via expeditions, I was able to add both Krista and Rita to the team.
So point being is I am now at a total of 7 survivors on my main save.
Map seed "LLL," does seem to consistently spawn (supply) a solid number of Ulfren throughout the entire yr.
Which ngl is awesome for my Ulfren ranching adventures, because then I am easily able to "restock" via taming, the Ulfrens my team consumes in order to live another day ha!
Even more awesome than that, would be if the Ulfren meat could be used for a new recipe, say styled after my favorite burger, In-N-Out's dbl dbl xtra holy sauce! Be well
