It doesn't surprise me that delivery drones aren't doing it, because of the Ranching vs. delivery thing. I was curious if service bots would do it though, so it sounds like you have answered that question.
You are correct.
My assumption that it's related to delivery was based on description of manual activity. When I selected survivor who was not assigned to "Delivery" and wanted to order him to bring food, description said "(not assigned activity)".
I just figured out issue is caused by (probably) bugged Camp management area.
I used it for a while to micro manage survivors, but with bots and drone I didn't need it and I deleted it and it seems that's what caused it. If there is no area built, nobody's touching feeders even when they are idle, once I create at least one area, survivors with Ranching are filling them up immediately.
But yah, survivors prioritized for Ranching, but with no delivery assignment, will fill the feeders. The opposite is not true. The tooltip is just, wrong.
Glad you got it sorted with the area flags. Sounds like the feeder, despite not having the option to assign an area, does inherit from a flag built, but doesn't lose that inheritance when you delete the flag.
My survivors fill feeders just fine with no area assignments, so you probably could also have resolved it just by deleting the feeder and building a new one.
I have finished the scenario multiple times and they have never done anything different at the end, when Hope has most skills unlocked, then what they do early on when she does not.
As of yesterday I made and started using a mod that unlocks "everything" for Hope as a final event for her after she's received all of the unlocks that she can and even with everything unlocked, those droids and bots are still only doing the same activities as always.
