How to upgrade ceiling above stairs?
Ok, this is tricky...

I want make upgrade to solar roof but need upgrade ceiling below, which is in fact cailing above 2nd floor, I did all possible mvoes of furniture, but no idea how to manage those 3 last tiles right above stairs = it seems to be unreachable no matter what... how to solve this?

Could it be they are part of the stairs ? I have not made indoor stairs yet.

Try double clicking the ceiling from the outside.. you get a bunch of other stuff with it but hopefully you be able to choose the tiles you want to upgrade..

But on a side note.. the devs REALLY need to make a way to upgrade houses easier now that they added multiple floors.. it becomes downright frustrating depending on the size of the house
Seconding this question as I have built a veritable palace with staircases but I can't get the roof (on the 2/F) to cover the staircase an entire floor below! Using balconies to cover for it also doesn't work.

I think it's a remnant problem of the stairs' coding not yet adapted to account for the fact we have multi-storey houses now, and are still treated as "uncoverable outside" pieces.

I solved it as wrote above - removed those stairs 9which btw removed as well attached roof and walls for any reason), built another stairs in different part of house to reach 2 nd floor, than rebuild everything including roof upgrade in area of original stairs... and redo all to original state:p

Easy:-D

The issue was/is not in select the ceiling but that colonist can not reach it/finish the task.

This was difficult to understand, so after some re-reading and experimentation, I'll summarize the above with this: In short, build your ceilings to completion first, THEN build the staircase up.
Roofs come separately/afterwards.

This, right here. I struggled for 20 mins trying to figure out how to wall in my stairs due to this issue.

I appreciate the devs adding this content for free, but it can be frustrating when you delete some flooring, walls, and sometimes ceiling tiles for having the audacity to move a piece of furniture or delete a window.

And good luck finding those damn ceiling lights. At some point, they disappear and it's next to impossible to find the right one if you want to move it, and even harder to not accidentally delete every floor/ceiling tile above and below it if you remove it.
