I'm going to take Farming for Hope's other skill that gives sentience, and pray that it is enough to carry her to 100%. But the map is Sobrius, and the xp loss in winter is going to be killer.
Most pick either crafting or farming, as those are easily repeatable. You can't actually make victory impossible by running out of research.
I still have not gotten to where that choice is given, going into the end of year 1 right now. I did get to pick her first trait, and I went with the +50% skill gain rate. Hedging my bets, seeing as that will help her gain sentience no matter what other choices I make.
She capped her crafting skill while at 95% sentience...
She no longer gains Intellect points for crafting.
I'm now just hoping for Tachyon Sources... :\
I was worried on this playthough that I am on because I used Random Survivors and got Krista. But even with Krista doing more than half of my research, Hope is going to hit 100% Sentience by the end of year 2, or at the latest early year 3. She's been on a diet of nothing but Silica Energel plus for quite some time.
