Report a translation problem
You guys should re consider an OSX version there is a huge market for OSX. With Apples porting tools all you need to make sure it works in there translation shim. Example game works in proton for linux.
I just upgraded to MacOS Sonoma (14.6.1) which had some improvements in regards to DX (I think) and so I changed the settings for the Steam bottle in Crossover from D3DMetal to DXVK.
Before the OS upgrade the game would not start or give me an error message using DXVK, now I can start my save games. Unfortunately the graphics freeze up just after a few seconds and it runs quite choppy until then but the game keeps on running as I can still hear the message alert randomly sounding. I can move the mouse-pointer but everything else is unresponsive.
It's a great game and you should definitely reconsider. It really, really sucks to only being able to play ten or so days of an awesome game and I've started quite few games. I've become an expert setting up first camp, lol!
And with Apple's porting tools which use the same core technology as Crossover, that is Wine, it shouldn't need too much effort to make it work past a couple of weeks, I guess.
If anyone would be able to at least point me towards a possible solution for my problem, I'd appreciate it greatly.
Until then, I'll play around with the games graphical settings (again *soft sigh), in hope to stumble across a solution. Lol
