so is gay marriage a thing?

so i have been not getting the survivors getting married for some time now, then i was surprised that Simon and Daniel are a "fan of the man". so they have professed their love for each other. so would i be correct in assuming these guys can get married and i "achievement get"? although i question that there are 2 guys and 3 girls..... and the dudes say screw them chicks, we embrace our bromance ! lol

It's possible to have two guys or two girls marry each other.
If you don't like it then you can keep them separated by not placing their beds together and not building the marriage arc. Although same gender relationships are as old as humanity itself.

kk, i really don't care either way, i've just had so many hours into this game and no one ever got married, i'm just happy no matter who

Its just a perk system that is based on other criteria and doesn't check for that stuff nor does it matter since there is no system in place for offspring. You just get some additional perks for some people that is it.

There is some RNG involved. Working close together and increasing interaction that way can help with relationships. But it's not a guarantee. Could even make them dislike each other.

There are several discussions about that subject.

Relationship, engagement and marriage gives a mood boost when they have their beds next to each other in the same room.
If one of the partners dies or leaves the planet though the other one will get a mood penalty.

You put the beds next to each other and assign them to the lovebirds when you get a notification that they hooked up.
If you let people sleep next to each other without a relationship they not only wont get the comfort bonus from a large bedroom but also get disturbed sleep penalties.

They never do it when you want them to, especially when you're going for the achievement. Sleeping together doesn't do anything. It's working together that seems to help. Researchers and cooks get all the love.

I think they get more happiness by not being married although when they are not married, they can and will get on each others nerves for a minus in happiness but that is overridden by the other benefits/increases.

On a further note, opposite sex relationships do not discriminate age; however, I do not think same-sex relationships/marriages are in this game at all.

For the achievement, I believe you want couples more so.

well Simon and Daniel got married, i even took a screenshot (so it happened) lol. it happened by accident i only had the run going to get the 50 tamed animals achievement .... that was an annoying one to get i tell yah .
