If you don't play that scenario, then the base game gets new researchable tech - delivery drones and service/defense robots.
PS: The DLC is on sale this week. Feels a bit lackluster to me. Wish they'd fix the gross pathfinding/task management issues along with the DLC.
So, it's on sale. Is it worth getting if the military scenario is my least favorite? It sounds like it's an extension of that one.
The DLC adds service and harvest bots to the base game scenarios. That alone is worth the DLC price to me. I haven't tried the Guardians scenario yet.
