Not sure if it's a bug or a feature but it is an inconvenience. Seems like they shouldn't be running a priority check between gathering materials and crafting, but they do.
But the point being; if someone deliver items to a Work Station; those items shouldn't be restocked; unless, of course, there was a change to the Production list of the item.
But All-in-All... I'm just glad it's not Just Me :) LoL
Survivor One: Hey, Jerk Face, Put that Back!!!
Suvivor Two: -8 Survivor One Called him a Jerk Face.
Assignment checks happen all the time and when no one has crafting that item in his queue someone or something with delivery can get the task to move it to the designated storage.
Next check when someone has a free slot in the queue it can be that one gets the task to craft that item again and will go get the resources.
If only the one doing the crafting does a nanosecond of crafting with those resources then it's locked to the table. Only when another crafting task gets priority on the table will the original task be put in storage as unfinished and then collected again to be continued.
Again... I'm just Guessing. I haven't played long enough to Know... or to have seen this occur.
I'm a Massive Lover of Survival Games... the kind where you spend all your time Grinding for Resources; so this game is Directly in the Middle of my BallPark. An I am sooo Loving all of the features. The ability to to stack items on Individual Shelves, to stack everything together like a Clutter Closet or to Organize it with A Place of every Item, and Item for Every place.
I have a whole Field of Hay... and a Large Shelter to Store the Hay; but I have a Small spot near my Crafting Bench where we Stack Hay 'First' for quick access for making cloth.
Seriously... How many games allow you to Micro-Manage at such a Level. So what if someone keeps putting your supplies back... just grab the Last Ale when you see them coming in at the end of the day; the look on their face will make it all worth while. :D
Sorry it was a response to the OP.
Indeed. I read your rage post about it awhile back. I started only accepting seeds with Printed Materials as a Breakthrough because of it. It was posted just as I was about to start the Military Outpost for the first time.
I must stress that only Military - Insane Chaos that it got bad, simply due to the amount of needed defenses, followed by the obvious need for the amount of electrical generation and batteries to support such defenses. I didn't fail the game, did well actually, but at Year 3, it was clear that the end is far away, even with 3.5 survivors dedicated to soldering benches full time. I could have finished the mission with less defenses, but it wasn't my first Military-Insane and I wanted a nice base that could survive attacks with minimal repairs.
