I'll check out your map seed after i am done with my current map. ( might take a bit )
But i'll play it.
I Like and Dislike it. It's good Terrain; a Plateau on a Small Cliff; lots of Area. Soil is mostly 80%; but I was able to get Tons of Food. By Mid-Summer I had Grain, Pumpkins, Berries, Cotton... and, at least, 5 or 6 Others (I'm not in the game at the moment, but I've got tons). Also, it has a Decent amount of trees close by to give you a Good Start; but Plant More Trees Early.
Note: A Nice Trick I learned about Trees. Plant Trees directly on Top of the Trees; it Auto-Cuts them Down, while Replacing them. Even if you don't want maintain them; you can always Stop the Plot, the but the trees will still grow.
On the Down Side; only a Handful of Ulfin, but an 'Okay' amount of FlatHeads. Also... I was looking forward to building Walls/Fortifications; I'll still do it, but being on the Plateau, IMO, takes away from the whole Fortified Effect; but... We'll See. :).
FOLD-BUY Sobrius looks decent. Better Research Breakthroughs but no loam. The plateau is large and flat with a little pond in the middle. It'll make for a nice fort on a hill.
Easy Sobrius maps:
PROOF-REST. Credit to a YT streamer. Super easy to get more people. 1 walk-in within a few days. The rest from expeditions.
GAS-STATE. Also easy to get people.
Chitin Synthetics - means you can get full synthetic armor set fast and no longer need to tailor summer/winter clothes every year.
Printed Component - I think it's the best. Major time sink to craft manually.
Fuel Fermentation - nice but you can always go manure > fuel. I always do manure anyways to level up crafters so they don't fail making synthetic/carbon armor or weapons. OK to fail with manure since it's free.
Balloon Optimization - good if you run Expeditions early game when fuel supply is not fully up yet. Not really useful for me since I start expeditions in Fall/Winter.
Improved Laser Pistols - don't care but it's a good gag. Give 1 to Sora and with her ability, it's a hoot to watch.
Improved Railgun Snipers - very useful if you play long term.
Improved Pulse Rifles - don't care and ugh, 4 power cells for 1 gun!
Ore Prospecting - don't care. Just need a little ore to craft gas masks. Metal comes from scrap.
Sleep Training - 5d research for something I can't seem to notice. My guys don't seem to wake up any earlier after it's been researched.
Improved VR Games - nice to have. Double xp and you can pick what you want them to play, err learn.
Hay Cloth/Sausages - useless
Meat Printing - useless. I suppose you can print raw red meat to get dried meat to feed carnivore pets. It's the only food that has no happiness debuff.
Carbon Wind Turbines - very nice for long term play (since you can only get carbon in bulk later). Allows for crazy use of power. Lights, heat pumps, freezers, etc.
Improved Solar Cells or Graphene Solar Cells - nice to have especially early phase to save on electronics. You need 1 battery asap. Late game, still nice but can do without since you have solar roof.
I think Military Outpost scenario require at least 1 of these power breakthroughs. The energy drain (500 for relay + stronger bug attacks mean more turrets needed) is much higher.
Random People : Connor, Emelin, Paulene, Yokko
Breakthroughs : Chitin, Hay Sausages, Printed Components, Fuel Fermentation, Improved Solar.
7 survivors by end of first year, I moved straight away on start to build on map corner. Loads of Spaceships. Hay Sausages were a god send with that many people so early, especially with Emelin who gives food buff for all crafted food.
Interesting challenge though!
While that is true, you could bridge that gap with the skinbark.
Was cool start location with very interesting rock formation at landing site.
Temperature is Biome related. Seed has no real impact on it.
I played on Saltu and equiped my people with summer gear and no jackets. Worked nicely all year round.
You'll start on a wide river where you can set up camp, but 50 meter down stream there's a path through the forest that leads up to a big plateau with all sorts of colours and animal life. The only things that aren't in arms reach are ore, clothblossom and after the initial amout of stone is gone it can get a little difficult to get to big spots. But it makes up for it with debree pieces.
Remember this is in Sobris.
Have fun!!
Gigantic open plain and beautiful landscape, next to a small lake and surrounded by mountains.
Expedition to collect CPU and weapons, infinitely.
Meat printing, fuel fermentation, graphene solar cells are the breakthroughs so far (I just started year 2).
Several essential resources for getting started are available at your fingertips and, in any case, Rita always helps with what we don't have.
I am in a similar location, but I have hay cloth breakthrough, which is useful on this map. Where is the single bush, by the way? The only clothblossom I found were clear across the map on a hill.
