In this case i also turned off petting of the Ulfens so it was only poop collecting.
1) Turn off Ranching to avoid the dumb need to restock feeder every time it drops from 100 hay to 95.
2) Turning off Ranching also means no training.
3) You can turn off petting for Ulfens but characters will still "visit" other herbivores (that don't have petting) and bond with them.
Overall, another dumb miss by devs in that "transporting" animal feed cannot be done by drones or droids. Plus the miss with not being able to turn off "visiting" tamed animals. It's annoying when the base itself is full of leisure/relaxing activities and yet they insist on going outside to "visit" farm animals to relax which are usually not near the base.
I like Broodmothers for all the carbon fiber they generate and the extra ranged firepower during attacks. However, feeding them is a pain.
I've ranching turned off to avoid the collosal waste of time it causes. The price is manually looking every morning at the feeder. If low, I click on a delivery drone then right click on a feeder and select 'feed'. The drone then drops whatever it is doing and carts a full load of the most easily accessed designated feed to the feeder.
Sadly, all this has to be done manually. I could wait for the 'animal starving' notification, but I like my Broodmothers in max health for all the carbon fiber production.
