The break-up could have been avoided with better work planning. Having one part of the couple do lots of tasks in close proximity to someone who is not the other half of the couple creates a lot of brekaup risk. Once you see the flirting etc, you can change the work patterns to avoid things going too far.
I have not yet had a married couple split up, even with lots of extra-marital flirting and unhappiness in the marriage. So, do get them married. Everyone likes the wedding ceremony anyway.
Re-doing the night part of the base is not a big deal. When the couple changes, just change the assignments of your beds. No walls need to change, nor does any furniture need to move.
As for redesigning the bedrooms, most likely you have 5x4's with couple having a double bed in there. Not a bad idea to have an "overflow" bedroom in case one of them gets the boot.
If i am not mistaken a married couple can split up too ? Not seen it yet though, only have one game beyond 20 years. But you can see married couples like each other less and see then interested in someone else.
I would need to play that save for some more years to see what happens.
Haha ! "Sorry Jack, it's John's bed now"
Thank you both for your answers !
No children, will not happen.
