Fuel issue on Robots and Guardians
Am I missing something or is it really hard to get fuel on Guardians and Robots Scenario? To make fuel you need insect meet and in other scenarios you have tons of those from the attacs. But in this scenario insect meet is hard to find and seem the only way to make it. I guess I'm getting unlucky as scavenged everything in vicinity and got fuel only once. Used it to build a trader hoping to buy some but so far they only offer to sell but I can't buy any. Am I missing something? Can anybody tell me how to make fuel in this scenario?

You can make fuel from manure or fats(grain-> vegetable oil). Dont need animal fat.

Also chew root - fats - fuel, or red meat - fats - fuel.

Easiest is to have a few poopers in your camp. Plant some grass, disable harvesting of the grass and disable petting of the poopers.
You just need to keep a wee bit of food for them in reserve in case a cold winter kills the grass and you need a feeder.
All your people have to do is pick up the poop and bottle it in to fuel at the crafting table and occasionally plant a new grass.

Thank you for your responses - haven't figure out how to make the fuel out of manure so thank you for your suggestions :)

When you observe the manure you can start making fuel from it at the crafting table. No research needed.

Having gotten my Guardians scenario to the point where just a ludicrous number of forces arrive on the regular, the only thing you're going to generally need fuel for is the hot air balloon. Go ahead and have a survivor study some poop carefully, and then go tame a breeding pair (or two) of large herbivores who will provide you with enough poop to have multiple balloons running around every day.

The trading vessels that come by don't have enough money to be particularly useful, only occasionally have chew root, and you might as well just go ahead and slap down one set of diesel generators tied to a battery monitor and expect to never really use them if you've built a sufficient number of batteries. In a relatively short span of time the attacking bots will start packing enough salsa to keep Hope wildly oversupplied so you'll no longer have to worry about using fuel to make that for her. Flamethrowers are not even slightly useful against a bunch of bots, so that's out as well. Power cells, electronics, scrap metal, guns, and even a massive quantity of nanotubes will simply keep arriving on the regular, courtesy of the enemy robot forces. I'm literally powering my battlebots with power cell generators on the same circuit as the turrets, just because I've got like 1,000 of the darn things...

Oh, and don't let anyone but Hope do any research because 50-60 spec-op bots, 100 walking turrets, 200 G-2000's and 100-odd flyers all at once is definitely a possibility if you get stuck with everything researched and she's still at 80% sentience.

Ya best way is to make a decently large farm for larger animals since they produce the most manure... however you will also need to make sure the food they eat is in large supply.
