i give ex for carbon from scorpions nest: after mining, rarely drones go hold, but usually i have 2 solutions to initialize the work: 1. i select a drone and make him move till the place, then i make it free, he starts to collect carbon and will continue till the end.
2. i can start a building that needs carbon, that makes it move, but he will hold first the nearest ressource, needs micromanagement sometimes. if the ressource is needed somewhere drone will hold it.
.. and sometimes he starts to collect a ressource but stops for some unknown reason and go to his spot and stops working. do drones have a planning? or energy autonomy and need to reload electricity?
I have removed mining, salvaging and delivery from all my survivors and the mechies take care of it. No need for my people to travel long a** distances to mine and haul.
I think you nailed it.
