1) Set drying rack to 0 slots.
2) Set selection filter on drying rack to allow smokeleafs.
3) Set drying rack to 1 slot.
4) Handlers will then load that one open slot with 100 smokeleaves. The rest (raw) will remain in storage and be available for tea.
5) Set drying rack to 0 slot. This is so that when the 100 is dried out, handlers don't load another batch of 100.
Then depending on how many raw leaves you have left, you can do another batch of 100 as you wish.
But I agree, more control over the number of things, like a minimum-in-storage setting would be good to have. Glittercaps are also a pain to manage because they are used for so many things, and then they're not available when you run out of healing balm or your shroom torch runs out.
More control would be welcome, but for now it's just another one of the game's many challenges to figure out, so not a big deal once you know about it
the inability to actually command your people to load the rack is really dumb. Fortunately, once you get a drone or two, that problem solves itself.
But yes, after running about a hundred different maps, I think I've built the big rack once. Every other time, it's just one small drying rack.
I just put it under a shelter. Out of curiosity, does that increase the drying rate? I've never really paid attention.
i also did another test: on the small rack it was at 30% and on the big it was at 20%, then i commanded to empty the big rack, the skin and meat went to the small, and the assembled pile was ... 20 %, should have been 30 for me. that was weird. if you add new skin on a pile that already started to dry, there is no change...
