As far as the getting together part it always seems to be random for me i can have the same ppl do same thing in two different games and have two different outcomes so not sure best way to get them to get together
The only way I have found to get them together is having them work side by side day in day out, they need to be close enough that you see the little text above their heads of them chatting to one another, provided they don't hate each others guts they will eventually start dating.
For example having two workbenches next to each other and only those two people with crafting assigned. You usually won't have it happen until you have your base to the point where your people rarely need to leave and they focus on tasks in the same rooms together.
In one of my longest playthrough's:
Ken and Rita were dating, then they got broke up by Ken cheating with Melody
Ken and Melody got married, Melody became part owner of the Planet, then Melody cheated on him with Samatha resulting in divorce
Melody and Samatha got married
Yokko married Naras, then Yokko cheated on him with Simon resulting in divorce
Yokko and Simon got married
Would not go well when babies or kids get shredded by bugs or robots and perhaps die.
