Managing Carter's Dimentia?
Are there any tricks to managing Carter's dementia?

I've never had him in my survivor pool on any playthrough that was an extended one, but I've got him on my current extended trading scenario which I expect to go to year 15 or higher.

Right now, he's up to [moderate) for his condition, and I've already had him pass out during combat with an attack wave twice. So I'm hoping there's some tricks to at least help manage it.

He's a hired hand, so I could just let his contract expire, but I have grown attached to him.

No real trick you just got to keep a closer eye on him, as the years go by, as his condition starts to become noticeable I limit him to working in the base and keep him at the back of the bunker during attacks that way he is close to help at all time and you don't have to risk anyone else having to go get him if something happens outside the base.

I mean he is a great worker especially with his double skill XP and you can get away with him helping out for quite some time on the lower difficulties but on the higher difficulty his condition deteriorates a lot faster at that point I try to get him off planet as soon as I can, either via escape pod in crash landing or just not re hiring him in trade.

Sounds good, and I'll keep that all in mind.

For now, one of the things I did was set up his schedule so that he takes a nap in the middle of the day (and just sleeps less time at night). That should keep his rested state from ever getting too low so he's less likely to pass out on me.

It's actually kind of cool that the "old guy needs to nap".

At least you do not have him in true solo run as I did:p
