Insect nests

When you kill the mobs at a nest, how long do they take to respawn? Is the time enough to have the nest observed?

Also, is there some hotkey to scroll through the various nests? It's a chore to have to search for them all the time

I don't think bugs respawn. I'd usually kill the mobs, then destroy the nest and you can observe and then mine the nest nodes.

I'm not sure what the respawn rate is, but it's pretty quick. IF you haven't destroyed the main nest (the one that you can 'attack'). Once you destroy that, they will never respawn again.

You can observe the other (harvestable) nests, so there's no reason not to destroy the main spawning nest unless you actually want a shrieker/scissorhands nest to farm insect meat at.

There's no hotkey to cycle through the nests that I am aware of. I wish there was, it's very hard to find them at all on the Saltu map.

It depend a lot on difficulty I think - on normal I cleared the nest with small mech easily and there was plenty of time to mess around.. on Insane hatchlings were literally spawning faster than I managed to kill them..

But as jaggid noted the spawning nest is not needed for observation hence no reaosn to not destroy it..

Yeah same even on VH a small mech and a couple of people as support could still clear it, before any respawn giving me time to pop the main nest.,
