As for locating them, I make a point to turn the show robot names on in the settings section to help keep track of them, be nice if they added an overlay option/button similar to how they have tamed animals show up highlighted.
That or if you lose track of where they are select garrison at their command stations or turn of their command stations they will head back to base after a short while.
Still seems like a huge oversight considering combat is integral to the game.
The bots and drones should return automatically to their original control stations once you undraft them, so if you've built them close to each other that's one way of keeping them organised.
Meanwhile, the bugs break cover and start eating your silicon plants you've been desperately waiting to harvest.

I have not tried it yet myself, but it sounds interesting.
By that I mean it doesn't yet do what I want. If this mod would let me....
Press Alt-1, and all survivors and bots (that I previously set) will go to their spots on my NORTH battlements, but if I press Alt-2, they'll go to assigned posts on the SOUTH battlements.
I haven't found much success with just one "maze entrance"; there always seems to be that group that spawn on the opposite side, and decide my walls are more fun than walking all the way around the base. So I make two (or more for a very large base), which means this mod:
1. Still means I have to command each survivor one at a time (nothing really saved here), and,
2. Bots are the big problem, and the author says he's still working on that.
I'll pass this along to him and see what he says.
Give the current version a try. There is a mod option that allows you to assign battle stations per work area. You can place a work area flag at each wall and order your survivors and all robots to report to their battle stations associated with that work area. Once their stations are set it's a single button click.
