There are some achievements that must be done with no rules (basically -- start game options such as Big Family or Peace First). Those achievements specifically say no rules enabled. Mods will still work with them.
What causes a problem is using the console or cheat commands. You do that, it disables achievements.
Also, in the case of the Cheat mod, it adds additional text options to the info panel of selected items and units which function as quick buttons for cheat functions. Clicking any of those also disables achievements (and is a bit easy to do by accident....speaking from personal experience).
Anyway to re-enable the achievements to be able to use the console. I don't get much time to play and would like some help in just a couple of the achievements. Trying to do them legit anyway but always nice for a helping hand.
Noticed also that your power mod over writ my little mod to extend the device connections and had to edit your mod for it to increase but no biggy though
I haven't actually dug into it at all, so maybe I'm wrong about that, but I personally think that if there was a relatively easy way to circumvent it, someone would have done it by now.
Mods don't disable achievements at all though beyond what was already mentioned in the thread, so you could shortcut whatever achievements you are having difficulty with by creating your own mod for it.
The game has no achievements that can't be made entirely trivial with the right mod tweaks...which is why I find it kind of odd they bothered with the whole "cheats disable achievements" thing in the first place.
Ok, thanks
