How to get electricity/research solar panels?

How do I get electricity if I cannot research solar panels?

I'm 30 days into a run, have salvaged a few fallen ship modules, but I still don't have the option to research solar panels.

This means, as far as I can gather, I have no way of getting electricity (besides utilising the power cells I find), which stops me from many other things.

Any advice for how I can proceed?

i have researched the electronics thing and still can't research the solar panels. I have already made an electronic part on the soldering table and still cannot research the solar panels :( I'm slowly but surely running out of fuel for the diesel generator.

I eventually found electronics in some debris that fell, just as a heads up to anyone else curious, as I couldn't find definitive answers elsewhere.

Another alternative that comes to mind, is I believe you can perform expeditions by making fuel from manure or oil, and possibly find electronics during expeditions.

Seems like rather poor design

every scenario should start you with one laser pistol(or better for military) if you deconstruct that it gives you a cpu core(needed for that research) and a power cell( which unlocks it's research). the power cell can further be deconstructed for electronics(unlocking that research). no rng required

info panel of each tech shows its requirement(s) to start the research. solar panel research requirements are researched "electric grid" and "find/produce electrics", electric grid research requirement is "find/produce metal alloy."

to produce electrics "the standard way" (without scavenging for stuff) is thru diesel generator route.
