Honestly I have no idea why they didn't figure this out before launch, because from a base/house-building perspective it's dumb as ♥♥♥♥ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I built my stairs against a wall... and thought that was why I couldn't put a roof... so deleted it... and oh man, spent the next 30 minutes trying to rebuild my floor, walls, roof.... lord... It got so bad and I took so long... my drink got warm.
In the end I figured screw it, I'll plan out the rooms and figure it out later.. set it all up, whacked the stairs down intending to be a placeholder, and wouldn't you know it - it worked Lol
