Only used thermostats once myself, and gone straight to air conditioners with their built-in thermostats since. Don't remember if they behave the same way, but it would make sense.
True, but notice what OP said: The mouse was on the thermostat, meaning on that exact tile, the temperature was 17C.
i think the termostat is placed on the wall that looks outside and he lose 1 C on that wall...looks like the wall is counted like a mid tile or another tile. I dont see issue here he got the aprox req temperature.
