Connor died from the infected eye

so apparently i had healing balm, smokeleaf pipe, first aid kits, antibiotics ready for Connor..all stocked infront...he just died from eye infection. what went wrong?

Sometimes the eye infection will just kill him. The best way to save him is to get him off-planet. There's even an achievement for it!

There are instances where Connor's eye can be healed, but I haven't been able to do it myself yet, haha!

Maybe it should be a scenario flag for this? If I start out wth him on a trade scenario, not like I can just toss him out in space and send him packing...

This guy is simply the worst! Even when he's relatively healthy at the start he keeps getting migraines and stopping to vomit all the time, then forgetting what he was supposed to be doing and goes off to do something else.

And I thought Annette and Greyson were bad with their snails-pace movement... Next time Connor appears in one of my rescue expeditions I'm gonna leave him to the wolves

Even if they don't want to tell us, I hope they just say "we won't tell you" strictly, so I can just give up to waste my time on Connor .

JensErik_Frontier is a community manager. Its possible he doesn't know the answer.

I suspect that instances where people have spoken about Connor's eye being healed may be due to a bug - ie it may happen accidentally when he is healed for another reason.

There's also that he might not want to spoil that particular thing. (the achievement used to be a hidden one too, and most of the talks on the forum here seem to limit themselves to hints rather than outright telling).

I remember one exploration that is a... healing forest? No idea the name. I've only seen it once, added 100 HP to my survivor that visited it. That might be a way to heal a chronic illness without leaving the planet, not sure, I had only healthy people at that point.

If I recall right. There is some event pop up in regard of treatment of that eye. But I never had the required items needed nor the medical skill when it does. Maybe it just is random or it drop it on you early, idk.

In my limited experience with him I saw him get ill from the infection and require antibiotics (or a first aid kit) to get back up again, but I haven't seen anything else.

Come to think of it I'm not sure what the healing balm is even used by the survivors...

I don't know the specifics of how to heal Connor's infected eye, just that it's happened in some players' playthroughs. It's the same with Carter's dementia: I haven't been able to make it happen myself.
