Be cool if they did, and I"m not saying they don't. But I have yet to see it happen if they do.
Heck, we can't even manage to cut stone from rocks that are larger than a small dog...I mean, seriously? But carbon nanotubes...no problem, I can make those.
On the other hand... Your dudes manage to break down entire starship parts with their hammer -)
For starters, they should not have created a brand new skill for it...they should have just used Physical.
And the quantities involved are so silly low. But then, it's adding a long-term, infinite supply of several resources, so in that respect it's also OP. If you consider 'infinite supply' an actual balance change.
It's really not though, as none of the scenarios have victory conditions that require 'infinite supply'. And the most high tier resources that the mine can give already have an infinite supply source (farming) that is way more time efficient.
I stripped the parts I liked out of Beyond Stranded to use when I finish all this achievement hunting and the Mine/Excavation was one of the things I tweaked the most.
Because I'll go to clear an area, my miners take everything, and then I revisit the area and I see more rocks. But it could be a perception thing since I normally play the game dosed up on caffeine and zoink out of my mind on catnip.
Lol, a game that features coffee, tea, wine, ale, moonshine (moonshine?), buzzshrooms, and smokeleaf would seem to cater to the "altered states of reality" crowd (he says, sipping his morning coffee).
[LoR] Team Triss wondered a while back if crash debris sites leveled out over time. Crash site erosion and newly formed rock deposits would both be welcomed by players, and they might both be the product of realistic weathering. Can't say I've noticed either. Butt now I am at least alerted to the possibility. Never hurts to double-check such things.
1. the multi select tool is not always selecting everything it has a limit, so can be that this makes the impression that some had been respawned while it actually wasn't selected on first try.
2. some stones are double, i mean spawned in each other, so you remove one it reveals an other.
3. meteorites do keep falling with stone and metals
4. use hay to make bricks if your out of normal stones and want walls.
5. stone is not an end game material, so that it is limited on some seeds is not so bad. Just adapt and go for higher tier materials.
