How Does Flare Shielding Work?
How in the world does flare shielding works? I have already researched it, and built improved solar panels with improved batteries and my towers keep connecting and disconnecting intermittently.

Anything that uses a CPU will need more power to operate during a solar flare. Without the shielding they would all be offline.
So perhaps you have a whole lot of devices that used a cpu to build ?

I know you are trying to help but that literally told me nothing.

Once i have researched flare shielding what do I do then? Can't find flare shielding as an option anywhere.

You don't have to do anything, it is automatically applied once researched. i.e. you cannot turn it off once it is on. Which means you need to make sure your power grid can handle the increased consumption that it causes (during solar flares).

Solar panels will also generate twice as much during solar flares, I think. Or do I remember this wrong?

They actually did answer what happens, anything with a cpu needs more power to operate during a solar flare, other wise with out that researched, they go offline. Thats it, thats all that research does, there is nothing to build, nothing to change on your part, the change is passive.

If your stuff is turning off it is because you do not haven enough power for them. And you may not be getting a solar flare, but a solar eclipse, which then the solar panels do not work.
