On the game prior, his cirrhosis disappeared as well, using the same restrictions.
He had severe when I had him in a game as well, and walked very slowly... Stuck to workbenches. I didn't finish that game, btw...
In my one playthrough with Jack, I just let him drink -- it made him happy -- and then got him off the planet early. I've never played with him again, because other survivors have the same or better stats without the complications. (Ditto with Connor, with whom I am playing now just to get the achievement. Not sure why anybody would voluntarily pick him and his considerable problems. Connor just went berserk and destroyed a number of items in camp, which he had the good grace to rebuild once recovered.)
Am surprised that the character description on the page where you pick your survivor team before beginning the game does not mention Jack's condition. It would be like not mentioning that Jayla has a split personality with a less congenial demeanor. Even Connor's description alludes to his condition and eventual demise. But you have no idea with Jack until you are underway.
I found Jack on an expedition in that game, but I selected him in my very first game, and the research guy that reminded me of Daniel Jackson in Stargate SG-1, as well as Rita, as I found her like Samantha Carter in the same show. And Jack O'Neill, of course.
Was a big fan of that show, and saw the connection at once.
I wonder if the cirrhosis thing is something the actor Richard Dean Anderson would appreciate, should he hear of this?
I do. The blonde girl.
I keep wondering when I'll lose him during an expedition.. so he's now only doing in-base tasks like crafting and farming stuff...
