how to forbid emergency rations?

i dont want people eat emergency rations, how can i forbid?

On each person's Bio tabs there is one on the far right I believe that allows you to restrict or enable various things. Like not eating Raw Food and then down the Food menu there is "Other" and ER's to uncheck.

When you go to a character panel, go to the option on the right "restrictions". Then go to Cooked meals and in there uncheck Other ( it contains emergency rations ). You can then copy/paste that setting to the other members.

I've restricted emergency rations, but they still eat them. Is this a known bug?

I have never seen them do that in my plays. You have ER's unchecked or perhaps cooked ER's ?

Did you restrict the right one AND copy those restrictions to every individual survivor?

By the "right one" I mean there are two emergency rations. There are Emergency Rations and there are Cooked Emergency Rations.

It takes a "day" for some of the restriction to take effect it seems. If they were already on the way to pickup and eat an ER...otherwise you have to manually intervene just as you issue the restrictions.

I guess that's the problem. I'll check after one ingame day again.

I'm well aware, that those are two different things. I would be pretty "dull" to don't recognize this. Even the tutorial teaches you this.

I just been having this same issue and no one has had correct answer (or already one I understood clearly enough to figure it out from what they said) but I figured it out myself! By shear serendipity cuz one of my survivors was en route to eat a ration... and I was like, "Hell no!!! I got soup!?? Eat ya damn soup!!! What?!?!?! You too damn good for soup?!?!?! (Why you shopping for clothes at the soup store?!?!?!)" I was able to stop him and toggle it being allowed to be eaten, but eventually that got me to figure out correct way to do it. You go (like everyone is saying) into the allowed consumables tab for each person then you need to toggle the show/hide category for Consumable Meals. Then do that again with the other category and finally deselect the emergency rations! Boom goes the dynamite!!! They stop eating the dang rations before everyone is screwed!
