Feedback: no combat xp when driving a mech

I wonder if this is a bug or not but since the use of a mech requires at least 3 combat I suppose it might be:
When piloting a mech the pilot does not receive any combat XP which isn't right.

I thought it was intended. How much xp do you gain from pushing a button? Also does combat skill even effect the mechs at all? Even with the base lvl 3 combat to pilot one a single mech can still solo entire waves of enemies by itself. I was also surprised that the combat mech also only requires 3 combat. Honestly though mechs kinda break the game they are way too strong with no real downsides.

@Handbanana I think mechs are a requirement since the power drain of the turbo encabulator is too much to keep up a turret defense in late game. And while one pilot can get a lot of kills it's only the one pilot that can get XP, not the whole squad you would use instead to bring the firepower.
And it's a bit different from the other two scenarios, so I think it's fine to have powerful fighting machine in the military scenario - it would be weird if the military would fight with handguns like mere survivors.
