What are your specs?
64 gigs ddr4 1066 dual channel ram
RTX 3060 Ti
game is installed on an ssd (not .m2)
Seems to be a CPU issue. Just a wild guess, comparing to my old system:
- 9900K
- 1070
- 32GB Ram
running on 1440p with max graphics settings, working fine for me.
I'm not entirely sure that's the only issue though. As mentioned, the game boots and runs perfectly fine on the menu. If it really is just a cpu issue I would imagine that even the menu would have some stuttering considering the huge drop in performance loading into a brand new world has.
I installed a new antivirus software a while back (Avira), and it came with a built-in 'game booster' as an extra feature, and it was enabled by default without me knowing about it.
First time I played this game after installing the virus-software, the game was sluggish, low fps, sound was skipping, and input lag was terrible. When I scrolled around the map, it kept scrolling long after I let go of the scroll keys, things like that.
Then I noticed the 'game booster' thing, disabled it (bad experience from using game boosters in the past), and then the game run flawlessly again.
I also have a CPU (Ryzen 7 2700X) that is considered a bottleneck for my RTX 3070 Ti, so I keep the fps locked at 60 or 72 in games (60 in this), never running it 'unconstrained', which also helps with stutters and power spikes. Was advised to never let the GPU run at 100% to avoid overheating and CPU problems, since I'm also only using a 750W PSU, where at least 850 W is recommended.
Rest of specs in profile, if relevant.
Good luck!
