Different traders will have different stock to sell, and also have different prices depending on the faction they represent.
Usually buy/sell prices in green are good, and buy/sell prices in red are bad.
* I got Edmund Goode & also Kana & have them write short stories as often as possible; they sell for about 1050 each to at least some of the traders. [Edit] The Battleship pays 1600 for each short story. Edmund & Kana crank them out 4-5 at a time when they need to relax.
Thank you for the feedback, I understood that from the description of the trade ships that you can call but it is also just a bit of the information is there any way ingame to compare the profitability of any trade goods among the different groups?
For the moment my best bet would be to write down the individual prices from different merchants in order to find out with whom it is best to sell, from whom the best to buy and between who the difference in price is tolerable to not really matter if buy/sell to one or another.
Like a simple tab with the different merchants and their sell/buy/no deal tab.
In terms of lore I would appreciate if we could at later stage build somekind of economy work station where we could place a worker that will inspect the current market and after e.g.: 8 hours of reviewing the market he will provide an overview of the current sell/buy prices which are valid for the time when he finished his work. That would kinda make sense to have to do with your own paper and tips when you have only wood desks, but when you get electricity, you could build a desk with computer and have a worker to do a realtime deal research.
In such case I would not mind to be in the dark at the start if I can eventualy get the data that are critical for any bussiness owner.
Hey again! There's no option or feature in the game currently where you can compare the different buy/sell prices from the different trading factions. As far as I'm aware, this isn't something that's being considered for the game either.
Most of the time, it's fairly intuitive what the factions want (high sell) or have an abundance of (low buy). The military faction, for example, is well-stocked on guns so selling weapons to them isn't usually a good idea but it is a good idea to buy from them if you're looking for a deal on weapons.
There's an RNG element to it as well.
