Unable to build house
There doesn't appear to be a blueprint for this?

You research the tech : Construction basic.
Then you can select housing in game and design your own house.

after construction basics you have to start with a floor, add walls, and a roof... and doors... and windows... and vents... and a/c...

Your survivors can usually get along for 2-3 years without a house, especially in the Saltu environment. My preference is to wait until I can build a complete carbon house -- but have settled for a concrete house on Saltu. Clothing should be prioritized before house building, since the proper clothing will keep the survivors from suffering frost-bite in the winter and heat-stroke in the summer.

Carbon rooms are scam. In this game you need to have a cheapest base as possible, to reduce amount of raiding bugs. So no carbon or concrete rooms - hay and sticks only! Mood bonus is the same and temperature isolation does not matter in this game, if you have clothes.

Stupid mechanics, but it is what it is.

If you have carbon in stock, building a house with it does not increase the attack that much according to this.

You've made my point -- that you really don't need a house at all; proper clothing will protect the survivors from the extreme heat & cold events. That said, if you are going to build a house, then build a good one -- carbon (best) or concrete for the thermal insulation properties. Yes, you are right that you get the private room happiness buff no matter what kind of house you build. But you are wrong in your assumption that the concrete & carbon houses will increase the amount of attacking bugs -- read Flin Fredstone's post above for a link to the developers' comments on this topic.

When you get your base to the point that you can build carbon & concrete houses, then are you really still worried about bug attacks??? At this point the attacks should be really just minor annoyances.
