How to get carbon nanotubes?

Hello, I would like to produce some sniper guns, but need to discover carbon nanotubes first. I know it should be obtainable from the nests. Already destroyed 3 near the base, but only silicon from nest formations. Playing on Saltu. Nests on this map does not have carbon? or is it depending on luck? Dont see other nests around on the map :o)

Ahhh ... nearly impossible to get carbon nanotubes on Saltu unless you research the 3D printer, from which you can print them. Yes, the nests on Saltu yield only silicon -- but a lot of it! You might luck out and find some weapons in the wrecks.

Players that are used to acquiring carbon nanotubes from Shrieker nests, may find it more challenging to acquire this resource in Saltu, but valid strategies include using the 3D printer or taming a Broodmother Shrieker

You can get small amounts of carbon nanotubes such as for making weapons this way, but not really practical to get a lot, such as for building walls or houses. :(

Amen to that! On Saltu you can forget about carbon houses and carbon fortifications; with the 3D printer, carbon nanotubes are quite expensive -- requires liquid fuel among others things.
