Because that would explain A LOT.
In all seriousness, the only way around it is to not send that survivor on that mission. So, unless you have an old save.....
Yeh that would explain it.
I've only seen 1 other thread on this forum about a survivor dying on expedition, that thread the survivor crash landed.. and part of the issue was that they weren't removed from the list at top of the screen if i remember right.
I've never experienced this myself, I have had injured and severe heatstroke people return, but usually at night so they are reducing in heatstroke. So you're quite lucky in that regard.
As for undoing it, do you have autosaves off? If you do and haven't made any save games.. I guess no there isn't. Do you even have a corpse to bury?
On a side note, I'm just waiting to read in the news how someone used an F15 to shoot down a goose, because the M16 wasn't enough overkill.
Never send someone out during extreme heatwave or cold snap unless the trip is short (mere hours, and you are wearing appropriate clothing). Best is to wait till extreme event is over, then send them out.
However, the extreme event can occur and the survivor can get the heatstroke, even severe heatstroke, whilst having completed the expedition. As the game wears on, the expeditions take longer and longer.. so essentially.. they will die eventually, no matter how cautious you get.
Each expedition has a time associated to it... It a risk if you decide to send someone out on a 5 days round trip vs 1 that's only 3 hours when he's not Quinn or has a weak temperature tolerance range.. You can also predict when an extreme might happen too, due to seasons.
Oh yeah, there's also the happiness value when selecting the explorer. Don't want them to return and instantly meltdown. Sad wander or hiding okay... Berserk? Ouch.
Thank you for your help.
