master of the herd, same species or mixed??
Like title says, to get the achievement do I need 50 of one animal, say Ulfens, or does it count if I have a mixed herd of ulfens and drakkas? If it can be a mixed her, do dogs count?

You just need to have 50 tamed animals, they don't have to be the same animal.

I had a big mix of most tames when I got mine.

50 tamed animal regardless of what animal you have .
The thing is...you only need to have 50 tamed animal at a time to achieve this and you don't have to feed them . So better go on a taming spree , keep those you want and then slaughter everything after you got the achievement .
