Dogs - Desert only map?

Ok thats a bit sus but i found some now.
I tryed over 30 seeds on the first planet and never found some.

They can be pretty hard to spot

I find them and sometimes if you listen carefully, you hear 'em barking. I think they die quickly in the wild though. Its sometimes a race to tame them just to save them.

They keep spawning, so there really isn't a hurry; they're just hard to spot. I'm still getting new dogs spawning on my map and I'm on year 6.

Playing the seed CALM-TUNE on Sobrius, and spotted a dog not too far from camp.

Haven't tried taming yet, but I've seen posts where people saying dogs are bugged, in that when survivors try to pet them for happiness, they can't access the dogs, and get stuck trying and trying without success, circling the dogs, not trying other forms of entertainment.

My first 2 maps. Sobrius and Saltu, there were multiple dogs very near the landing spot. But I can't see them anywhere on my Desertum map. It would be hard to feed them at this point though.

They should continuously spawn in now and again, but they could also be attacked by other creatures, so they are in danger of being killed before you can find them!
