Glitchy sound

I seem to have an issue with the sound cutting in and out and its quite annoying. its almost like its stuttering.

No problems this end. You might try updating your sound drivers. Or maybe your drive is loading to slow.

I just had this happen twice in my game. My sound cut out for no apparent reason. So it does look as if it could be a game thing.

It happens for me as well and only with this game. All other games and applications have no issue.
No clue what's the problem.

Yep. Jumped back in after a long break since the release last year and disappointed to find it still has the sound skipping/cracking/popping problem that it had before but now it seems much worse. Music is fine, just all the other sounds, that keep pausing every second, or pop/crackle.

It's unplayable for me now as it's just too irritating.

I have nearly 30 other games installed at present and I don't get this issue with any of them nor any others in the past.

Bug report was already sent last year and again today but unless it contains detailed hardware/OS/software/DXDiag info I doubt they will do anything with it and the save game is of no use.

I thought it was just me. Audio drivers were updated maybe a month ago (even changed speakers). Still get the crackling sound but not constant.

I just had my sound cut out entirely as well. It's the first time it has happened over several hundred hours of playing, and also the first time I was using my SPDIF audio output of my sound card, instead of my wireless (USB) headset, which is software-based rather than reliant on the sound card.

Perhaps the audio device being used makes a difference? i.e. audio driver related.

Maybe, but if every other game has no issue then it's the software that's the odd man out, not the user or their other software.

just a heads up, the restart fix wasnt permanent, sometimes itll work for 5 minutes then goes back to glitchy sound. Havent done any more debugging, not sure if its currently still present but talking about audio device, I'm using VoiceMeeter, could this perhaps cause an issue?

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but the trend here seems to be related to using sound card software rather than the "regular" audio devices?

Have you tried switching to regular audio devices to see if this resolves the issue?
