Hunters leaving meat and hides on ground
Why are they not collecting? I have handling and delivering set to 1. They go kill but they keep leaving everything behind. They have no problem harvesting aggressive bugs. Red meat is hit or miss to pick it up. I usually find the flying lizards chowing down on a pile of processed meat and the hides they just seem to refuse to pick up.

It's an issue with pathing/tasks. I brought up a similar suggestion for handling furnaces, where when they put metal in, they go one by one walking back and forth, but pull all of it at the same time to put in the stockpile when its metal alloy.. They handle 1 task, in this case hunting/butchering. If you hunt multiple things, they will go and butcher the animals, but only pick up one of the items, lets say red meat, and only from a radius in the area of where that task is. So if you kill or butcher 20 things, and the last one is a bit off from the others, they will grab the meat from the last one, and the ones closest to that radius, then leave to deposit it. After that, they will do the next task in the list by priority. Since the animals are dead and butchered, hauling the meat and hides is set in whatever list for handling/transporting now, so it just sits way out there rotting away because there are always closer tasks at hand in the list, and not everyone has transporting as a priority, or there are too many tasks. You'll need to specifically make them go pick up that stuff, and even then, you'll see them grab only the stuff in the radius of where you tell it to pick it up, so if you know they can carry 200 meat, and they only have 20, you'll have to keep telling them to go pick up the other meat until they get it all.

The butchering is under the hunt so if you direct them to hunt but they have higher priorities they will hunt the animal an not butcher. The hides getting picked up fall under either handling or delivery (if you scroll over the task it tells you what is included).
