How to sort old equipment?
I can't seem to figure out how to be able to equip new items from storage without old ones getting mixed in.

Click on the storage unit. There should be a tick square when turned off will allow you to see individual sets of items. So you can see the 100% items, then the lower numbered item or items will be separate.

But there is no way to stop them from blocking a 100% item from being equipped? I keep trying to change my survivors old equipment because that message is annoying being there all the time but then it is telling me to equip damaged clothes. It is also annoying that it counts towards the number of items you want crafted.

The way I do it, if they put an older clothing item or weapon back then I check the percentage of wear. Personally anything 25% or below I right click for disassembly. That way, even if they do put on something with more wear then at least it will last a bit longer.

I really don't care if they run around in rags. I make them wear the gear till it breaks completely. They can suck it up or melt down. If you make them rest at 50%, eat at 50%, and relax at 75% it's actually hard to get them to melt down. Just give each one their own 4X5 sleeping space with carpet and carpet their whole work space so you don't get cave dweller.

if you have a storage simply click on it, right click on any gear that has low durability, it will then be salvaged into items, and you won't have the problem again.

Having to track and manually deal with clothes IS the problem.

If you place a closet, with same clothing, the you people will chenge it by them selfs if the tear is to great. The only thing you have to do is check for old clothing and right click on them to salvage.

This can be a serious issue if you don't have season appropriate clothing as your stupid survivors ignore the locks for clothing items and will equip things that will cause heatstroke.
I wouldn't mind managing what they wear if someone would fix the broken system.

It would be nice if they changed to season appropriate clothing by themselves.

True, early/mid game it's anoying, but they will replace with what they are wearing if availible. Late game they just wear syntetic/carbon armour so that removes the need to change gear.

They copied so many things from Rimworld. They could have copied simple apparel/gear management...
